The DRAG’N’FLY SPS Field Hockey Stick from the Newbery Hockey Range is our top of the range, low bow stick that gives you the ultimate in stick design technology. Traditionally all top of the range sticks have been made up of a 100% carbon matrix, the carbon content in a stick determines it’s price (as carbon is the most expensive part of a stick) and the power (as carbon makes the stick more rigid, therefore producing more power). However as Newbery has introduced D3O into the make up there is no need to have more than 80% carbon. Therefore not only do you get a piece of hockey equipment that will last longer, is better value for money but you also have better power to feel ratio. The very low bow design improves 3D, drag flicking and aerial skills.

D30 is our vital ingredient, used by ‘Head’ in their ‘You-Tek TM’ tennis rackets it’s an intelligent material designed to adapt to your playing conditions. This means when you want your stick to become stiffer when hitting the ball, the molecules close together to give you increased power, but when you want the stick to be soft, when receiving the ball, the molecules relax and give you greater feel.

The SPS also includes NANO Technology, allowing a greater density of carbon through molecules being closer together again giving you a stronger stick with more power. Our Side Impact Protection System (SIPS), where we have reinforced the back hand allows for harder edge reverse strikes. With all of this breakthrough technology the SPS really does give you one of the best possible international specification sticks available.
